Egypt has about 62 power plants with a generating capacity of 34.1835 gigawatts. Egypt is the most populous country in the Arab world, with a growing demand for energy to support its economic and social development. The country's power sector is primarily fueled by natural gas, oil, and coal, which account for most of its electricity generation. One of Egypt's most significant power stations is the Aswan Dam Hydroelectric Power Plant, located on the Nile River in Aswan, southern Egypt. The plant is a hydroelectric power station and is the largest of its kind in the country, with 12 generators producing a total capacity of 2,100 MW of electricity.
