Description:
Three equal vertical bands of black, red and green. The white national emblem is centered on the red band and slightly overlaps the other two bands; there is a mosque in the center of the emblem, and there are pulpits and flags under the mosque. Below is the eastern Arabic numerals, representing the solar day of 1298. The center image is surrounded by a border consisting of two beams of wheat on the left and right. In the upper middle is the Arabic inscription of Shahada, below is the rising sun rays above Taqby, and in the lower middle is the rolling name Afghanistan; black represents the past , Red represents independent bloodshed, green represents future hope, agricultural prosperity or Islam.
